We partner with mission-driven organizations to design programs, influence policy, and strengthen partnerships.

Weaver:

  1. One who brings together silos and knowledge bases; skillful in generating common threads and meaningful connection together.

  2. Amy’s ancestry (her whakapapa). Her maternal grandmother and great aunties were Weavers. They were incredible humans and she learned a lot from them.

Weaver Collaborations is based in Aotearoa New Zealand and works with partners around the globe.

ABOUT AMY

Amy Armstrong is Founder and Principal at Weaver Collaborations. She brings 20+ years’ experience designing and leading global initiatives to deliver social and environmental impact—working within and across government, philanthropy, research organizations and NGOs.

She has deep expertise in resilience-building strategies and has worked with some of the world’s largest cities and smallest island nations. This includes helping to stand up and lead two philanthropic climate resilience partnerships—100 Resilient Cities at the Rockefeller Foundation and Resilient Reefs at the Great Barrier Reef Foundation—working at national and subnational levels to co-design equitable climate projects and policies.

She helped grow and lead two applied research centers at New York University, which helped cities make evidence-based decisions on land use, housing and the urban environment. She worked in New York City government to accelerate community and economic development policies and programs. And she has advised a range of non-profits and philanthropies on strategic planning, program development, and policy research and analysis.

An agile facilitator and strategist with experience across sectors and cultures, she brings a rigorous and inclusive approach to helping organizations clarify their vision, design their programs and partnerships, and evaluate and communicate their impact.

As a weaver, she holds many affiliations, including as an Associate with Think Place New Zealand, a Senior Consultant with EcoAdvisors, and as an Edmund Hillary Fellow. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Reed College and an MSc in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics.

She is mom to a goofy and curious son who is also figuring out how to do well for the world, and spouse to a talented writer and fisherman.
